USE COLOR FILTERS in Black and White Photography

Photography black and white film, using color filters to change the color of their photos. Ever seen those images in black and white with dark sky and puffy white clouds? It is not natural, it requires the use of color filtering to produce the desired effect.

Use a color filter with a real digital camera that is perfectly acceptable and has its merits, but is not absolutely necessary. Programs like Photoshop has the ability to apply non-destructive color filters. It also has the ability to produce the same results as a color filter in the black and white conversion. For those of you with Photoshop CS3, you will see the settings dialog in black and white has several predefined filters that can be applied and modified to suit the photo.
